PORTRAIT OF DR GACHET Vincent Van Gogh 2 Oz Silver Coin 10000 Francs Chad 2021

The reverse of the coin depicts Dr. Gachet in a presented vividly. Every detail matches the actual painting, down to the profound expression on the doctor's face that Vincent had described as "sensitive" and "melancholy". His droopy eyes accentuated his tiredness, and seemed almost reflective of van Gogh's own melancholy. The 2 Oz Silver coin is struck in a new minting technique that combines 33.5 Oz of Copper in between two layers of Fine Silver, resulting in super ultra-High Relief while being tapped off with Silver Antique Finishing. The technique allows the coin to have an incredible weight and feel in the hand together with 80 mm diameter size. On the obverse, one of Vincent's final letters to his brother, Theo, is engraved with a small etching of the Portrait of Dr. Gachet in the corner. On the right side of the obverse, the Coat of Arms of Tchad and the inscriptions: "REPUBLIQUE DU TCHAD" – the issuing country, "10000 FRANCS CFA" – the face value and "2021" – the year of issue.
