The reverse of the coin designed by Jori van der Linde features a view of a puma, all re-imagined in the style of mosaic art. Just like real mosaic tile art, the larger image is formed by different-sized "segments" that are defined by engraved lines and clad in luminous colours—save for the silver proof shine of the rocks that have been "polished" by the fastmoving water. Mosaic Colour technology mimics the appearance of light filtering through each coloured piece as the eye moves from the water's glassy hues to the more vibrant colours of the spawning salmon, and the opaque colours of the grizzly bear's fur. The obverse of the coin depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: "ELIZABETH II" – the name of the Queen, "CANADA" – the issuing country, "2018" – the year of issue, "D·G·REGINA" – Dei Gratia Regina and "20 DOLLARS" – the face value.
