SHANGHAI WORLD EXPO Pavillion Silver Coin 1$ Australia 2010

The coin's coloured reverse depicts the visually striking Australian pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo 2010. The design includes the Australian pavilion's colourful logo - a representation of the Australian continent in three wavy lines symbolising the blue sea and sky, red centre and golden beaches. The coin's reverse also incorporates The Perth Mint's ‘P' mintmark. Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin's obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the 2010 year-date. Limited to a mintage of 30,000, this Shanghai World Expo 2010 silver coin is subject to an exclusive distribution agreement in China. Under a special arrangement, however, 1,000 coins can be issued by The Perth Mint for sale worldwide.
