ATHENIAN OWL Antique Copper 1 Oz Silver Coin 2$ Niue 2022

The reverse of the coin features the Tetradrachm, one of the most recognized ancient coin. The owl was associated with Athena very early on in archaic artworks and often depicted perching on her hand. Because of its strong connection with the goddess, the owl evolved into the Athenians' own icon and graced a large variety of coins such as the tetradrachm from as early as the 5th century BC. The reverse also incorporates the inscription: "1 OZ .999 FINE SILVER" – the weight oft he coin and the fineness oft he Silver. The obverse of the coin depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: "ELIZABETH II" – the name of the Queen, "NIUE" – the issuing country, "2022" – the issue year and "TWO DOLLARS" – the face value.
