The reverse of the coin depicts two women suspected of witchcraft sentenced to be burned at the stake. The first woman is already on the stake and has flames at her feet, whereas the second one is prepared to be burnt. Around them, some men are executing the sentence, including one religious man who is holding a cross. This is a dark part of Christian history, which resulted in the loss of many innocent lives. In the background, some ancient constructions and a crowd of spectators. At the top of the reverse, the inscription: "WITCH TRIAL" – the name of the coin. The obverse of the coin bears the Coat of Arms of Niue and the inscriptions: "NIUE" – the country of issue, "2022" – the year of issue "5 DOLLARS" – the face value and "Ag 999" – the fineness of the Silver.
