The reverse of the coin features NGC 1232, a barred spiral galaxy with a bright central bulge and prominent spiral arms that are filled with young, hot stars and glowing gas clouds! The galaxy is also known for its two prominent dust lanes that can be seen stretching across its disk, giving it a striking appearance! The magnify lens enhances the beauty of the design. On the obverse, the Coat of Arms of Cameroon and the inscriptions: "REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN" – the country of issue, "2024" – the year of issue and "500 FRANCS CFA" – the face value.
