Description
A beautifully designed coin struck to proof quality. The Heitiki appears in brilliant colour surrounded by feathers of the native Huia bird and the engraved words Heitiki and One Dollar. The obverse of each coin features the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, sovereign of the Commonwealth and New Zealand, along with the year of issue (2010). Presented in packaging designed by Warren McGrath, master carver to the Maori King, each coin comes in a Maori art inspired Waka huia made from native New Zealand Kauri timber and adorned with a unique Maori design. This coin is also accompanied by an innovative booklet that tells the special story of the Heitiki.
