The reverse of the coin features the image of Hygeia, shown holding and feeding a sacred snake in her arms. She is surrounded by birds that symbolize freedom and eternal life. The bowl with water represents a medicinal potion, while the snake represents healing. On the bottom of the reverse, the inscription: "HYGEIA" – the name of the coin. The obverse of the coin features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: "ELIZABETH II" – the name of the Queen, "TEN CEDIS" – the face value, "2 Oz Ag 999" – the weight of the coin and the fineness of the Silver, "2021" – the issue year and "REPUBLIC OF GHANA" – the issuing country.
