Description

The reverse of the coin represents an Elephant, highly intelligent and social animals, living in herds led by a matriarch. They are herbivores and spend a significant portion of their day foraging for vegetation. African elephants play a crucial role in shaping their ecosystems as they create clearings in forests. They are also known for their incredible memory and complex social structures. On the outer ring of the reverse, the inscriptions: "ELEPHANT" - the name of the coin, "1 Oz Au 9999" - the weight and the fineness of the Gold and "100 DOLLARS" - the face value. On the obverse of the coin, the Coat of Arms of Sierra Leone with the inscriptions: "REPUBLIC OF SIERRA LEONE"- the issuing country and "2023" - the year of issue.
