The reverse of the coin features an original illustration by Sir John Tenniel in the first publication of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. For the first time, this timeless tale has been commemorated on a UK coin. Alice with her iconic blue dress is looking at the Cheshire Cat sitting on a tree. The Cat is intent to help Alice making the right decision. On the right side of the reverse, the inscription: "ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND" - the name of the coin. The obverse of the coin depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: "2 POUNDS" - the face value, "ELIZABETH II" - the name of the Queen, "2021" - the year of issue and "D-G-REG-F-D" - the Latin acronym.
