The reverse of the coin features the panoramic aerial view of Canadians on the Bernières-sur-Mer beach during the D-Day. The design was entirely based on wartime photography, maps and documents in which every detail has been carefully researched to ensure historical accuracy. On the reverse, the inscription: "JUNO" and "1944 – 2019" – the years of anniversary. The obverse of the coin depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen George VI and the inscriptions: "GEORGIVS VI" – the name of the King, "D:G:REX ET IND:IMP:" – Dei Gratia Rex, "250 DOLLARS" – the face value and "CANADA" – the issuing country.
