SNOWY OWL Landscape Illusion Silver Coin 20$ Canada 2017

The reverse design by Canadian artist Julius T. Csotonyi features a winter mountain scene. The viewpoint is from a rocky, snow-covered slope, below mountain peaks that rise in the distance. But on closer examination, a snowy owl emerges from the scene. Its wings are found in the steep mountainsides; its head in the mountain's central peak; its talons are reflected in highlights on the snow; its feathers defined by spruce trees; and its beak and eye are shaped by two crows circling overhead. The obverse of the coin depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
