The coin reverse represents the accurate depiction of Miragaia Longicollum, a dinosaur that lived in the Upper Jurassic, designed by Joana Bruno, an archaeology graduate specializing in scientific illustration. The obverse of the coin shows the Coat of Arms of Portugal, along with the inscriptions: "5€" - the face value, "PORTUGAL" - the country of issue, "2023" - the year of issue, and a series of spinal bones belonging to Miragaia Longicollum, arranged in a very creative way to form a spiral.
