The coin's reverse depicts a bearded Poseidon riding the waves on his chariot pulled by two hippocampi, clutching his trident, with dolphins porpoising in the background. The design includes the inscription POSEIDON and The Perth Mint's ‘P' mintmark. To capture the depth and detail of the design, each coin is meticulously struck in high relief to a rimless format and features an antique finish which gives the coin an aged effect.
