ZHANG FEI Three Kingdoms Romance 2 Oz Silver Coin 5$ Niue 2023

The reverse of the coin features the wonderful high relief image of Zhang Fei, one of the major characters in the 14th-century historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, which dramatises and romanticises the events before and during the Three Kingdoms period. In the novel, Zhang Fei became sworn brothers with Liu Bei and Guan Yu in the fictional Oath of the Peach Garden at the start of the novel and remained faithful to their oath until his death. On the left of the reverse, the inscriptions: "ZHANG FEI" – the name of the coin and "Romance". The obverse of the coin features the Public Seal of Niue surrounded by Chinese drawings and the inscriptions: "NIUE ISLAND" – the issuing country, "2023" – the year of issue and "FIVE DOLLARS" – the face value.
