The reverse of the coin depicts an extremely detailed representation of Hedwig, the adorable snowy owl that was given to Harry as a birthday present from Hagrid on his eleventh birthday and became his trusted messenger, delivering and receiving letters. The obverse of the coin features the Effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: "QUEEN ELIZABETH II" - the name of the Queen, "COOK ISLANDS" - the issuing country, "5oz Ag .999 SILVER" - the weight of the coin and the fineness of the Silver, "5 DOLLARS" - the face value and "2023" - the year of issue.
