The reverse of the coin features a wonderful design created by Miles Standish. The design incorporates the US flag and the inscriptions: "GEORGE WASHINGTON – Father of his Country". At the bottom, an eagle with the inscription: "MS" – Miles Standish's initials. The obvserse of the coin features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: "ELIZABETH II" – the name of the Queen, "COOK ISLANDS" – the country of issue and "25 DOLLARS" – the face value. At the top of the reverse, the inscriptions: "THE INAUGURATION OF WASHINGTON AS FIRST PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, APRIL 30, 1978".
