The obverse depicts the magnificent North Rose Window of Notre Dame – a masterpiece in the art of stained glass windows and Pieta – the priceless sculpture from cathedral's altar. At the bottom, the dates: "1163" – the year in which the costruction of the cathedral began and "1345" – the year in which the cathedral was completed. At the top, the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
