The reverse of the coin features the legendary Sea Serpent, an incredibly large monster that was believed to be roaming the uncharted waters in ancient times, attacking every vessel that dared to venture there. Sea Serpents where often described as resembling enormous snakes. On the reverse, the inscriptions: "SEA SERPENT" - the name of the coin. The obverse of the coin presents the Public Seal of Niue, along with the inscriptions: "NIUE" – the issuing country, "2024" – the year of issue, "5 DOLLARS" - the face value and "2 Oz Ag 999" – the weight and fineness of the Silver.
