The reverse of the coin features a Phoenix, the mythical animal spreads its wings and talons in an impressive display. Minute lines are carefully engraved to deliver a life-like texture to its feathers that feel extraordinary under one's fingers. Surrounding the legendary creature are intricate motifs of smaller phoenix's that lay against the mandala pattern. Despite the strong indentations, the Chinese Phoenix remains poised and elegant in the center. The obverse of the coin shows the Public Seal of Niue and the inscriptions: "TWO DOLLARS" - the face value, "NIUE" - the issuing country and "2024" - the year of issue.
