MADONNA AND CHILD ENTHRONED IN THE CLOUDS by Mariotto Albertinelli Silver Coin 500 Francs CFA Cameroon 2022

The reverse of the coin features "Madonna and Child Enthroned in the Clouds", a painting by the Italian Renaissance artist Mariotto Albertinelli, created in the early 16th century. The painting depicts the Virgin Mary seated on a throne, holding the baby Jesus on her lap. They are surrounded by a group of cherubs and angels, who are depicted floating on clouds around them. Mary is shown with a serene expression, dressed in a richly detailed robe with a golden halo around her head. Jesus is depicted as a playful and lively child, holding a globe in one hand, symbolizing his dominion over the world. On the obverse, the Coat of Arms of Camerun the inscriptions: "REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN" – the country of issue, "500 FRANCS CFA" – the face value, "2022" – the year of issue and "Ag 999" – the fineness of the Silver.
