The reverse of the coin shows a flower, symbol of Eleusis, a small town in Attica, Greece, located about 20km northwest of Athens. It is known for its ancient ruins, including the famous Eleusinian Mysteries, which were sacred initiation ceremonies dedicated to the goddess Demeter and her daughter Persephone. The obverse of the coin shows the Coat of Arms of Greece, over a design which reports some crucial symbols of the Eleusinian Mysteries: the serpent and the spike. On the obverse also the inscription: "6 ΕΥΡΩ" - the face value.
