Description

The reverse of the coin shows K2, also known as Mount Godwin-Austen, is the second-highest peak in the world, standing at 8611 meters tall. It is located on the Pakistan and China border in the Karakoram Range of the Himalayas. K2 is considered one of the most challenging and hazardous peaks to climb due to its steep slopes, unpredictable weather, and technical difficulties. On the obverse of the coin, the Effigy of King Charles III and the inscriptions: "5 DOLLARS" - the face value, "COOK ISLANDS" - the issuing country and "2024" - the year of issue.
