The reverse of the coin reproduces the Crest of Gryffindor, one of the four Houses of Hogwarts School. Gryffindors are known for their leadership and bravery. The crest features a lion and the colors of the Gryffindor House: scarlet and gold. At the bottom of the reverse, the inscription: "GRYFFINDOR" – the name of the coin. The obverse of the coin presents the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: "ELIZABETH II" – the name of the Queen, "2021" – the year of issue, "COOK ISLANDS" – the issuing country and "50 CENTS" – the face value.
