The obverse of the coin depicts the excavation site during the discovery of Pharaoh Tutankhamuns' tumb, in the fullest detail and tells a story around the Coat of Arms of Djibouti. On the obverse, the inscriptions: "TUTANKHAMUN TREASURY" – the name of the pharaoh, "1922" – the year of the discovery of the tomb, "2022" – the year of issue, "REPUBLIQUE DE DJIBOUTI" – the issue country, "200 FFRANCS" – the face value.
