The reverse of the coin presents a wonderful cut-out in the silouette of a King Penguin and features the image of a Penguin next to an Iced mountain. On the left of the reverse, the inscription: "KING PENGUIN" – the name of the coin and on the bottom, the inscription: "2017" – the year of issue. The obverse of the coin depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Coat of Arms of Ghana. All around the reverse, the inscriptions: "ELIZABETH II" – the name of the Queen, "5 CEDIS" – the face value and "REPUBLIC OF GHANA" – the issuing country.
