The reverse of the coin depicts Napoleon Bonaparte, the French military and political leader, astride a spirited stallion as he crosses the treacherous Alps during the Italian campaign of the Napoleonic Wars. Also on the obverse the Coat of Arms of Chad is featured, against a background of another beautiful painting representing the crossing of the Alps by Napoleon, along with the inscriptions: "REPUBLIQUE DU TCHAD" – the issuing country, "10000 Francs CFA" - the face value, and another caption in french, commemorating the event.
