The reverse of the coin depicts the Water Torture Cell, a famous escape act performed by the legendary magician and escapologist Harry Houdini. In this daring stunt, Houdini would be handcuffed and locked inside a tall, narrow glass and steel cabinet filled with water. The lid of the cell would be locked shut, and the audience would watch as Houdini struggled to free himself before drowning. The obverse of the coin depicts the Effigy of King Charles III and the inscriptions: "CHARLES III" - the name of the King, "2024" – the year of issue, "REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN" – the issuing country and "1000 FRANCS CFA" – the face value.
