More info

Kermit the Frog is an imaginary character from Jim Henson's Muppet group created in Leland, Mississippi, USA. It is a puppet similar to an anthropomorphic frog, moved by Jim Henson until 1990 (when the author died) and then by Steve Whitmire. Since 2017, due to the dismissal of Whitmire imposed by Disney due to creative and contractual differences with the actor, the task of moving and giving life to Kermit has passed into the hands of Matt Vogel. Kermit is the most famous Muppet, he was used as a presenter in the Muppet Show, where he occasionally sang and danced, appeared in Sesame opened between 1969 and 1990 and is the protagonist of various films made with the group of puppets and actors in the flesh. In the stories he is often involved in a relationship of hatred/love for Miss Piggy: in I Muppets alla conquista di Broadway (The Muppets Take Manhattan) (1984) the two are married. On August 4, 2015, the end of their relationship was announced, and that instead of Piggy there is now another female character named Denise.

The reverse of the coin features a gorgeous coloured image of Kermit smiling. Fun images of Kermit are engraved in the background to completely capture the essence of him. On the left of the reverse, the inscriptions: “1 oz 999 Fine Silver” – the weight of the coin and the fineness of the Silver and “Disney”. The obverse of the coin depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: “ELIZABETH II” – the name of the Queen, “NIUE” – the issuing country, “TWO DOLLARS” – the face value and “2019” – the year of issue.
