The reverse of the coin presents the Church of Saint George, one of the eleven, and most famous, rock-hewn monolithic churches of Lalibela, Ethiopia. It was constructed in the 12-13th century by Lalibela, King of Ethiopia after a vision of Saint George. Lalibela wanted to recreate Jerusalem. On the reverse a beautiful crucifix colored and the inscription: "CHURCH OF SAINT GEORGE, LALIBELA" – the name of the coin. The obverse features a pattern with dots added to realize an earth sphere optical illusion. On the obverse, two rows of monuments around the world and the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: "ELIZABETH II" – the name of the Queen, "COOK ISLANDS" – the issuing country, "TEN DOLLARS" – the face value and "LABOR OMNIA VINCIT" – the latin motto.
