CHINESE BLESSINGS Fai Chun Shou Silver Coin 8$ Canada 2018

The reverse of the coin designed by Canadian artist Aries Cheung offers a festive greeting and a wish for luck and fortune throughout the year, like a door adorned with traditional Fai Chun paper decorations. Two vertical Chiuntao banners and the diamond-shaped Doufang at the centre are brought to life by a deep red colour application and the use of translucent colour, which mimics the look of traditional gold foil. On the left of the reverse, the inscription: "吉祥" – auspiciousness in Chinese characters. On the center, the inscription: "福" – Good luck in Chinese characters. On the right, the inscription: "如意" – good wishes in Chinese characters. On the top, the inscriptions: "2018" – the year of issue and "CANADA" – the issuing country. On the bottom, the inscription: "8 DOLLARS" – the face value. The obverse of the coin depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: "ELIZABETH II" – the name of the Queen and "D · G · REGINA" – Dei Gratia Regina.
