Star Trek Crew
Star Trek is an American science-fiction television series created by Gene Roddenberry that follows the adventures of the starship USS Enterprise (NCC-1701) and its crew. It later acquired the retronym of Star Trek: The Original Series (Star Trek: TOS or simply TOS) to distinguish the show within the media franchise that it began. The show is set in the Milky Way galaxy, roughly during the 2260s. The ship and crew are led by Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner), first officer and science officer Spock (Leonard Nimoy), and chief medical officer Leonard McCoy (DeForest Kelley). Shatner's voice-over introduction during each episode's opening credits stated the starship's purpose: Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before.

William Shatner as Captain James T. Kirk, commanding officer of the USS Enterprise. Shatner's good looks and groomed hairstyle made him a popular icon amongst young women.
Leonard Nimoy as Commander Spock, the ship's half-human/half-Vulcan science officer and first/executive officer (i.e. second-in-command). Spock is the only character from the original pilot to appear in the aired series. Spock is to this day one of the most popular iconic figures of science fiction. Spock was originally written to be a sex symbol for the show, but Shatner's Captain Kirk took his place.
DeForest Kelley as Lieutenant Commander Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy, the Enterprise's chief medical officer.
James Doohan as Lieutenant Commander Montgomery “Scotty” Scott, chief engineer and second officer (i.e. third-in-command)
Nichelle Nichols as Lieutenant Nyota Uhura, communications officer
George Takei as Lieutenant Hikaru Sulu, helmsman
Walter Koenig as Ensign Pavel Chekov, a navigator introduced in the show's second season
Majel Barrett as Nurse Christine Chapel. Barrett, who played the ship's first officer in “The Cage”, also voiced the ship's computer.
Grace Lee Whitney as Janice Rand, the captain's yeoman. Although Rand appears in several promotional images for the show, she stopped appearing midway through the first season.

The reverse of the coin portrays a colour image of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 crew including Captain Kirk, Spock, Uhura, Chekov, Dr. McCoy, Scotty, and Sulu as they appeared in Star Trek: The Original Series, against the backdrop of a galaxy. On top of the coin’s reverse the inscription: “The Original Series” – the name of the series and on bottom of the coin’s reverse the inscription: “Star Trek”- the name of the television series. The obverse of the coin depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: “2016” – the issue year, “Tuvalu” – the issue country, “2 Dollars” – the face value and “2 Oz 999 Silver” – the weight and the fineness of Silver.
