Description
The reverse obverse features the 1772 laureate bust of King Carlos III, inspired by the neoclassical style of the monetary reform, encircled by the historic legend CAROLUS·III· DEI· GRATIA and the date 1772. Modern inscriptions "ESPAÑA 2025" and "8 REALES 1772 MÉXICO" frame the design. The obverse displays the crowned, quartered shield of Castile and León flanked by the Pillars of Hercules—symbols of the high-fineness silver struck in the Americas. The traditional legend HISPAN·ET IND·REX appears alongside the Mexico City mintmark MO and assayers' initials M·F. Around the edge, "JOYAS DEL MUSEO CASA DE LA MONEDA" and the face value "10 EURO" complete this tribute to a classic colonial coin.
