The reverse of the coin features a portrait of Anton Geesink with the inscriptions: "ANTON GEESINK" – the name of the coin, "5 EURO" – the face value and "2021" – the year of issue. The obverse depicts the effigy of King Willem Alexander and the inscriptions: "WILLEM ALEXANDER" and " KONING DER NEDERLANDEN" – meaning King of the Netherlands. The reverse of the medal depicts Noël van 't End with, all around, the inscriptions: "NOËL VAN ‘T END" – the name of the athlete and "ROAD TO TOKYO". The obverse of the medal features the front of a judo uniform, half light and half dark. This symbolizes the blue uniform and the white uniform that the opponents wear during competitions. The design also incorporates two judokas bending towards each other, a sign of respect for the opponent.
