The reverse of this Silver coin portrays the Little Mermaid in the depths of the sea, surrounded by coral and marine life. Her long red hair flows gracefully through the water, while above the surface a ship sails — representing the prince she loves. The vivid coloration of her tail and hair creates a striking contrast, capturing both her beauty and her melancholy fate. The obverse presents Andersen's magical universe with finely detailed illustrations of his classic tales, including The Ugly Duckling, The Snow Queen, The Brave Tin Soldier, The Emperor's Nightingale, The Princess and the Pea, and The Little Mermaid.
