MINOTAUR REVIEW - Mythical Creatures - 2 Oz Silver Coin - Palau 2016

Posted on6 Years ago by 5626

Hi dears, it’s Chiara, and welcome or welcome back to Power Coin’s Blog!
Today is a special day, not just because it’s only 2 days to 2018, but also because a monstrous and strong creature has arrived here, at Power Coin’s Vault.
What creature? MINOTAUR, the Silver Coin… obviously!

Il Minotauro

Who was the Minotaur?

In Greek mythology, the Minotaur was a creature with the head of a bull and the body of a man and he dwelled at the center of a Labyrinth, which was designed by the architect Daedalus and his son Icarus, on the command of King Minos of Crete.
This beautiful 2 Oz Silver coin is the fourth release in the “Mythical Creatures” series and depicts the famous Minotaur, the monstrous creature locked up in the labyrinth of Knossos.

The reverse of the coin is astonishing: the main protagonist is the Minotaur, of course.
with powerful muscles holding a double-headed axe and standing in the famous labyrinth.
We can also see this beautiful gilded pattern ring surrounding the coin and giving it an extraordinary sense of prestigious. On the right of the reverse, the inscriptions: “MINOTAUR”, the name of the coin, and “2016”, the year of issue. On the left, the inscription: “MYTHICAL CREATURES COLLECTION” – the name of the series. All the incredible details of this reverse are perfectly struck thanks to the Smartminting Technology, but my favorite detail is the axe, made in Proof quality to emphasize it.

Minotaur Reverse
Minotaur Obverse

Ok now let’s pass to the obverse of the coin which depicts the Coat of Arms of Palau with the inscriptions: “REPUBLIC OF PALAU”, the issuing country and “10$”, the face value. This coin has an Antique Finish quality and a limited mintage of only 999 pieces worldwide… need I say more?
In my opinion, buying this coin is a great way to start the new year, don’t you agree?

Stay tuned and remember: Collect, Invest, Enjoy!
