Each coin's reverse depicts an adult rabbit and a young rabbit set against a background of foliage and a tree with creepers entwined in its branches.

The delicately frosted design on the proof coin appears on a mirror-like polished table;
The specimen quality gilded coin highlights the rabbits in 24-carat gold;
The specimen quality coloured coin depicts the rabbits in colour;
The shiny design on the bullion coin appears on a frosted table.

As well as the inscription ‘Year of the Rabbit’ and the Chinese character for ‘rabbit’, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark also appears on the reverse of all four coins.
The Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2011 year-date and the monetary denomination are shown on the obverse of each coin.
