The fourth release in this innovative "Treasures of Australia" coin program from the Perth Mint sees the inclusion of three granules of gold in a transparent pocket set within the coin itself. Like the three previous issues containing sapphires, opals or diamonds, the 2010 coins are struck in proof quality from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver and 1oz of 99.99% pure gold.

The reverse of both 2010 coins portrays an abstract interpretation of Australia’s stark and beautiful landscape – one of the world’s richest sources of gems and precious metals. The design, which includes the words ‘Treasures of Australia’, surrounds a transparent half-circle capsule containing the granules of Australian gold.

The obverse of each coin depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination.

Each coin is housed in a presentation case with a jarrah timber lid. The lid on the gold coin case features a circular viewing window revealing the coin inside. Both presentation cases come in a superbly illustrated box-shipper.
