Crocus adamii has a small corm with leathery tunics. Flowers are pale to dark lilac, 3-5 cm across and with yellow-orange throat. Leaves appear during blooming time. Crocus blooms from February to May, on stony or grassy slopes, bushes and open juniper forests at 1000-2900 m. It is common in Central and South Armenia and Artsakh.

On the reverse is a design featuring a Crocus Adamii flower with leaves, partially coloured, "Crocus Adamii" (in Latin and Armenian), and the hallmark "Ag 925". On the obverse is a pattern design that will be similar for all Armenian coins in the "Beauty of Flowers" series, incorporating part of the reverse image in it's design. The denomination and country of issue are also found on this side.
