Sorbus hajastana is a beautiful shrub or tree with broadly-pyramidal crown and reddish-grey is 8-10 m tall. Flowers are white, anthers pink. Fruits are large, shiny and crimson. Sorbus hajastana blooms in June on rocky slopes and forests edges at 1600-2400 m above sea level. In Armenia it is met in the basin of the Lake Sevan and at slopes of the mountain Arailer.

On the reverse is a design featuring a Sorbus Hajastana flower with leaves, partially coloured and partially polished relief, "Sorbus Hajastana" (in Latin and Armenian), and the hallmark "Ag 925". On the obverse is a pattern design that will be similar for all Armenian coins in the "Beauty of Flowers" series, incorporating part of the reverse image in it's design. The denomination and country of issue are also found on this side.
