The pacific anemonefish (lat.Premnas Biaculeatus) lives in the Pacific Ocean between Malaysia and Japan. He is nocturnal and only goes on prey hunt at night. During the day he mostly lingers under overhanging reefs.
Bright orange male, the large female becomes dark red or brown. Three narrow white bands, in the larger females can turn to grey. A prominent backward spine on the gills operculum. 16 cm. The 3 bands are a common charachter with Amphiprion clarkii and Amphiprion ocellaris, both have larger bands and no spines on the operculum.
The Premnas Biaculeatus feeds on plankton and seaweeds and lives in coral reefs in a depth of up to 6 m. Compared to other anemonefishes they are very aggressive.
