Flora and Fauna Emblems of Australia
The symbols of the states and territories of Australia officially adopted by the authorities of the various administrative entities in which the country is divided in Oceanian representative of the history, culture, flora, fauna and local natural resources. Generally, each institution has, at the official level, a flag, a coat of arms (Coat of arms), an official badge (badge State), a motto (in English or Latin), one or more official colors, a floral emblem, three emblems fauna (bird, mammal and a fish), one mining emblem (mineral or fossil; the New South Wales adopted them both).
The reverse of the coin features some of the most beautiful plants and most well-known animals of Australia, followed by the Territory of belonging inscriptions: “NEW SOUTH WALES”, “NORTHERN TERRITORY”, “AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY”, “VICTORIA”, “QUEENSLAND”, “TASMANIA”, “NORFOLK ISLAND”, “SOUTH AUSTRALIA” and “WESTERN AUSTRALIA”. All around the reverse, the inscriptions: “FLORA & FAUNA” and “EMBLEMS OF AUSTRALIA”. The obverse of the coin portrays the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: “ELIZABETH II” – the name of the Queen, “NIUE” – the issue country, “2017” – the issue year, “TEN DOLLARS” – the face value and “5OZ 999 SILVER” – the weight of the coin and the fineness of the Silver.
