The reverse of the coin features two butterflies wheeling above two melons with vine and flowers. A big gourd and swirling vine pattern appears in the background. On the left of the reverse, the inscription: "瓜瓞绵绵" - a phrase extracted from an ancient Chinese classic The Book of Songs (Gua Die Mian Mian) and "10元" – the face value. The obverse of the coin depicts the Coat of Arms of China and the inscriptions: "中华人民共和国" – the issue country and "2017" – the year of issue.
