Description
These beautiful three coins are based on the paintings of Hieronymus Bosch, with High quality colour printing. The source of inspiration was Bosch's most famous and unconventional picture "The Garden of Earthly Delights". His works, full of illusions and hallucinations, peculiar freaks and nightmares, inimitably represents the major themes of his time: temptation, sin and reckoning. The reverse of the first coin depicts a beautiful Britannia. The coin is selectively plated in Gold 24kt. All around the inscriptions: "Britannia", "2016" e "1oz 999 Fine Silver". On the coin's obverse, the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the face value. The reverse of the second coin depicts two key symbols of the Mexican people: the Angel of Independence and the Mexican volcanoes Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl. Appearing in the forefront, the Winged Victory angel is a historic monument for the Mexican people and is considered the symbol of Mexico City. The Mexican volcanoes pictured in the background of the reverse memorialize the legend of the two lovers from whom they were named. On the obverse side, the National Shield is surrounded by different eagle designs used as National emblems through the years, as well as the eagle in the Codex Mendocino. The reverse of the third coin was taken from the "Walking Liberty" design by Adolph A. Weinman, which originally had been used on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar coin of the United States from 1916 to 1947. As this iconic design had been a public favorite - and one of the most beloved designs of any United States coinage of modern times, silver or otherwise - it was revived for the Silver Eagle decades later. The reverse is inscribed with the word "LIBERTY" and the phrase "IN GOD WE TRUST". The obverse was designed by John Mercanti and portrays a heraldic eagle behind a shield; the eagle grasps an olive branch in its right talon and arrows in its left talon, echoing the Great Seal of the United States; above the eagle are thirteen five-pointed stars representing the Thirteen Colonies. The obverse is inscribed with the phrases "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", "1 OZ. FINE SILVER~ONE DOLLAR" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM" (on the banner that the eagle holds in its beak), as well as the mintmark if applicable.
