The reverse of the coin depicts an incredible colored Macaw Parrot over a beautiful exotic background and surrounded by feathers. On the bottom right of the reverse, the inscriptions: "1 oz AG 0.999" – the weight of the coin and the fineness of the Silver, "PARROT" – the name of the coin and "2016" – the year of issue. The obverse of the coin features the Burkina Faso Coat of Arms and the inscriptions: "REPUBLIQUE DU BURKINA FASO" – the issue country and "1000 FRANCS CFA" – the face value.
